Summer is Here!

Our ear infections are gone, we are sleeping through the night, boys' weights are up, and the sun is out! Oh, and corn-on-the-cob is for supper... SUMMER IS HERE! :)

We had a follow up for the boys' ear infections on Friday and they both looked good! And... good news... Max is now 18 lbs 8 oz and Luke is 16 lbs 8.5 oz! (I still give Luke every half ounce I can find!) I am so happy they are feeling better and I am so, so, so happy that they are both starting to sleep through the night again in the last two weeks! Hopefully it is a new trend... sleeping that is! And other good news, well at least a milestone... both boys can crawl up the stairs! They have actually since the 16th of this month, but since that, the ear infections, busy landscape season, and not sleeping.. well I haven't been updating! BuSY!

The boys sucking any butter and corn left from Mom and Dad's cobs!

Dad doesn't leave much!

Mmmmm....

The boys looked so sweet playing with their farm animals tonight... buddies :)

Ok, have lots more to get done... more bookwork, a shower... and then... SLEEP! :)

Happy Daddy's Day!

I have to start by saying that Caleb really is an amazing father! I am not just saying that for the sake of this post, to portray some image, or anything of that nature. I just really feel that Caleb deserves to be praised for all he does as a father! (And this year Father's Day is so much more celebratory, with babies home and not in the hospital!)

Caleb - He never hesitates to change a diaper, even poopy... doesn't phase him one bit! He never complains about crying or fussiness, he is consistent and firm with lots of love attached when the boys need him. He is an amazing partner in this new team sport we've entered - PARENTHOOD - always encouraging, always supportive, always loving, always grace-filled. He helps in the night; he rocks, he kisses, he sings, he snuggles, he plays, he loves, he disciplines, he prays... HE'S THE BEST! Really though... Caleb is an amazing man and father, and much of that goes without saying. So honey, happy father's day... (not like you'll ever see this), but I love you :)

We made it out for our annual (expect for last year) Father's Day Open!

THE face!

Caleb... a little rusty, but he did good!

I'm so lucky to have such an awesome Dad too! Talk about always there for you... he always has been and I know he always will be!

Three Generations of Yoder Boys!

We had a great lunch with Caleb's family and a fun relaxing afternoon. Some food, a little napping, quick skeet shooting, and some more food!

The boys waiting for the baked oatmeal custard to cool before church...

Happy Father's Day!

Eye Doctor and Ear Infections

Our eye appointment went good last week. Luckily it is so much less intrusive than it used to be... the exam. Since the boys are bigger it is quicker to dilate their eyes and easier to examine their eyes. Both boys are minorly far sighted. Luke worse than Max. Dr. Shuey was not overly concerned about either of them and recommended that we come see him again in a year. However, he did say to watch for crossing of the eyes, because that is common in far sighted babies... so feel free to inform me if you see my boys lookin' at ya funny! :)

Ear infections... ugh! We have them, had them, then have them again! Luke was diagnosed with an ear infection when we went in for our 12 month appointment on June 3rd and was put on antibiotics and then I took Max in just Friday (June 10) because he was running a fever and he has ear infections too! Then this morning Luke was running a 102 fever again and he had already ran his course of antibiotics so we took him back in and we are now trying a different, stronger does of antibiotics to see if that works. I just hate giving them medicine. There is always bad with the good there... sure, it might kill off the infection, but then it kills ALL of the good bacteria out of Luke's already weak tummy and could lead to him getting more sick and just feeling icky... not to mention excessive diarrhea! I've just been praying that his little immune system stays strong and that he can kick this quick! Max's ears looked good this morning when we took him in already though... better to have one sick than two!
And in other news... we ran out of milk... frozen that is! Crazy to think that our full size deep freezer is now empty! We introduced some formula for the first time this past weekend... just adding the two oz per bottle that we are shy, and they don't like it! Even mixed with breast milk. We will see what happens. I am considering upping my pumping... somehow ...to make up for the difference! I have officially been a human cow for over 388 days... and have pumped over 2000 times... and nursed two babies another billion times! Wow! Happy we've made it this far still smiling... now at least! :)
Sorry no pictures... need to get some new ones up soon!

Random...ness

So I feel like I have lots of updating I need to do... but forgive me, because I might be repeating myself. Better to be safe than sorry and have it ALL down!

Max now has six teeth! He has his two bottom front teeth and this four top front teeth. Luke has his bottom front two and he is working on his top two. They are days from cutting. As of Friday Max is 17 lbs 10 oz and 27 1/2" and Luke is 15 lbs 14 oz and 27". They are doing well, but Luke did have ear infections... that I had no idea of... good mom, huh?

In other news... both boys are crawling like crazy men! They are so fast! They get into everything... tear it down and shake it up, mess it up... ugh! So if you ever come over, brace yourself... it is usually a little disheveled around here. Just minutes ago I found Max licking baby powder off the floor after he had stood on his tip-toes to knock it down! They also are both able to clap, dance, pull themselves up, scoot along furniture, transition from furniture, say mama, dada, nana (just the sounds), and... what else... can't remember, besides looking ridiculously handsome! :) Maybe some pictures will jog my memory...

Luke in his new hat from Auntie Kathy!

We had so much fun with Sue and Kathy! We always do and always can't wait for the next visit!

Luke and Grandpa playing during my birthday dinner...

Caleb loves birthdays... can't you tell!? (just for the food!)

Fruit pizza! My favorite!

I truly had one of the greatest birthdays to date! I was spoiled by Caleb's family and my family. I also got to have a break and went shopping with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. It was great!

Our new favorite thing?!

The kiddie pool... on the deck... no mess... easy baths!!! :)

Max... the king (for a morning) while dad was away!

Luke after a bath... no shirt, yet!

Headed to Duluth for our eye appointments tomorrow. Hoping all is clear! The last time we went was the middle of August last year, and I vividly remember them giving us the scheduling card with June 8, 2011 on it.... and thought... wow! That will be forever until then, wonder what the boys will be like?! And WOW! It's here already. This last year has seriously been a blur! Pray that the exam goes well. It is not fun... they have to have their eyes dilated then they are held down to exam their eyes. Needless to say... it's takes a while with two and I have a feeling I am going to have two crabby boys on my hands tomorrow... I don't blame them though!!
