Summer!

Summer is finally here!! It's been a cool one... but it's finally starting to warm up! So far this is what we have been up to...
At the end of May my mom-in-law, Candy, threw me a surprise birthday party. It was totally a surprise!! My last surprise party was when I was 19, and I think my sister-in-law, Angie, was in on that one too! It was a typical Tuesday (a couple days before my bday) and my mom ran over and said she wanted to go see the cows out at Joe and Candy's that we just got. Caleb was planning to work late (as very usual) so we loaded the boys up and headed out there quick to take a look. Of course, when we pulled up I saw some of my girlfriends' vehicles and I knew, and my first thought was... MOTHER, what is going on!? My mom did her best to play dumb, so I did too! I just took the boys out of the car and marched up to see the cows with them. I was only dressed to see cows so I decided to dodge the party inside...

They caught on real quick and came to meet me!! With kazoos and all! Hahaha!

It was an awesome evening spent with some of my dearest friends. Just us girls! It was perfect! Everyone brought a salad to pass... my favorite and we had great desserts and drinks! So thankful for my girlfriends and girl-family! :)

For Memorial Weekend we headed just 45 minutes south to go camping with Caleb's sister and her family and my brother and his family. The weather was chilly but we had fun!!
Uncle Jake and Jack out for an evening stroll!

We got the boys Strider Bikes for their 3rd birthday(s). So far they are doing great on them! Too fast for my liking... but their dad is proud! We decided to get them a big gift since it is the FIRST ever present we have bought them! Up until this point we have opted out of getting them birthday and Christmas presents because they were too little to comprehend who things were coming from and frankly, their grandparents and aunts and uncles have been over achieving in the gift department! :)

My camping baby!

If you ever drive by our house and see this... well just keep going and drive by ten minutes later... you'll see the SAME thing! We like to pee outside... it's a boy thing.

Grandpa Joe-Joe and Jack. He, like his brothers, it totally captivated by his Grandpa. He's a pretty cool guy!

Baby Jack...

Caleb and I are honored and privileged to be this little sweetheart's godparents! Miss Adelyn Helene. She is the daughter of my childhood friend, Tyra and her husband, Kevin. Tyra and I have been friends since the first grade and it was so special and almost a dream come true to be pregnant together!! So excited to be apart of her sweet girl's life!!

Max and Jack... always up in the morning before Luke! It's their bonding time!

Great Grandma Clara and Jack

They kind of have a love affair going...

It summer! Sidewalk chalk!!

Tummy time with the bros.

Mowing the lawn with Dad. Redneck style!

There is a long story to go with this picture... But let's just say... potty accident + rake and sawdust = priceless photo op!

Ah... I really love living on water! We took all three of the boys for a boat ride the other night and I got this picture of the sun setting... on my phone!

Proof that my kids wear helmets... ok.. not funny. I probably need to get them helmets! Real ones.

Out for a walk with their bikes. Bad idea for the record!

Smiley baby!

Father's Day project! Success.

Auntie Rach and Jack!

Yes... we are officially in underwear every day! But... I wouldn't call them potty trained. They stay dry but still don't tell me if they have to go! So unless I take them every couple hours, we have accidents. They really are ok with pooping in their pants. Well, Luke more than Max. I'm hopeful it will come. I think I will take the award for the mom that has made potty training probably the most difficult and miserable task ever, though. Don't ask... I just seem to have not really found the secret! However, not buying diapers for three seems like progress to me!!!!
(If anyone has some secrets when it comes to boys... fill me in! I have thought about the last ditch effort... not pants/underwear. Just letting them run around naked so they know when they go... but I don't think I can go there. Every time they are without undergarments their hands are where they shouldn't be... so I need another viable option!)

My 2 are Now 3

The boys' birthday in pictures...

Nothing better than a cake batter that is dairy and egg free... there was lots of batter licking!!!! If anyone needs a good alternative here it it... they turn out great! And you can make them a little doughy to have with ice cream, almost like lava cakes? And since there are no eggs, there's no worry!

1.5 c flour
1 c sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup oil
1 c cold water

Combine ingredients and pour into greased pan or muffin tin. Bake in oven until done, when cake springs back to the touch or a toothpick comes out clean. Time varies on the pan you use, 15 to 30 minutes possibly.

So fun now that the boys are older because they are so into the theme of their bday! They picked the farm theme and NEEDED cow cupcakes... which threw me for a loop because I had a game plan for all the animals but NOT cows! Ha! It was a fun cake to work on!

My three-year-olds!

Half of the village people!

Family photo minus Jack... he was napping!

Luke loves his wheel barrow!

I can't believe my boys are three. My teeny tiny twins that were supposed to have ALL these problems at three are perfectly healthy, super smart and almost potty trained! :) I praise God for what he has done in these little boys' lives and look forward to what he is planning for their future! They are both beyond sweet and have personalities that are as opposite as chocolate and vanilla. They are enemies one minute and kissing each other the next. I love that they still come give me kisses randomly during the day but yet I am marveled as they become more and more independent every day!

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

Amen to that, thank you Jesus!
